Hackney NUT held a retirement party from teaching- but not the NUT, for Mark Lushington on Friday 20 November 2009. Mark, a past Hackney NUT Secretary, will continue in his current post as Press and Publicity Officer.
Friends. work colleagues, Executive Members, Unison members and past Hackney NUT Officers attended. Mark was presented with a Miners Lamp in recognition of his contribution during the Miners Strike. The presentation was made by Brian Lawton, an ex-Notts NUM member who had been involved in the Hackney Miners Support Committee.
