President- Simon Sackwild
To take the lead in promoting the NUT, its policies and its campaigns.
To chair general meetings, the local executive committee and other meetings.
To act as a spokesperson for the association or division.
To write and deliver a presidential speech at the appropriate meeting of the association or division.
To have a working knowledge of the rules and standing orders of the association or division.

Treasurer- Chris Moisan -
While treasurers should be ‘prudent’, the treasurer’s role is to spend the NUT’s money for the benefit of members!
To support recruitment by ensuring that sufficient funds are available.
To apply for grants from headquarters to support association or division activity.
To keep records and accounts relating to financial transactions.
To submit a statement of accounts to headquarters on an annual basis.
Divisional Secretary- Lynne Snowdon
To convene the annual general meeting, general meetings, meetings of the executive committee and other meetings, as appropriate.
To ensure the arrangements for the annual election of local officers.
To take a role in casework on behalf of individual members.
At division level, to co-ordinate negotiations with the local authority and other employers of teachers.
To be involved in local campaigning activities.
To co-ordinate recruitment activities at local level.
To co-ordinate the use of information and to carry out any action necessary to implement NUT policy, as indicated in the regular circulars mailing.
To communicate with and to support school representatives.
To attend division secretaries’ briefings.
Assistant Divisional Secretary- Heena Modi
To deputise for the secretary as required.
To take the minutes and circulate them.
To take responsibility for negotiations/casework in certain aspects of the Division's work as directed by the Divisional Secretary.
To prepare agendas, book rooms and circulate documents for committee and other meetings.
To organise regular mailings and routine administrative/secretarial work.
To prepare a division's calendar of meetings, directory of officers and other reference documents.
Equalities Officer - Simon Sackwild
To promote equal opportunities.
To encourage participation in NUT activities by all groups of members.
To be involved in casework on behalf of members.
To undertake surveys and research into good practice.
Membership Secretary- Julia Haldane
To record and review membership totals and details within the Division in conjunction with the Treasurer/Assistant Treasurer and to report regularly on current trends and any problems, opportunities for membership growth, etc. For example, to share this information at the AGM.
To prepare and distribute locally based recruitment literature.
To ensure that arrangements for newly qualified recruitment and any other campaigns with nationally produced materials are implemented at local level.
To co-ordinate student recruitment activities at local teacher education establishments.
To circulate a termly updated members list to School Reps.
To maintain and update the website.
Health & Safety Advisor- Anne Drew
At division level, to be involved with the LA on health and safety matters.
To be involved in casework on behalf of school health and safety representatives (individually and/or collectively).
To disseminate health and safety guidance for dissemination to NUT health and safety representatives and members and dissemination of nationally produced materials.
At division level, to monitor the operation of LA's health and safety practices, guidance.
To visit schools in relation to health and safety issues.
To attend the health and safety advisers’ briefings.
Press & Communications Secretary- Marcia Hylton
To respond to media queries on a regular basis and to establish good relationships with educational journalists.
To co-ordinate the involvement of other local officers to provide information, photographs and interviews.
To maintain a contact list of journalists, e.g. someone at the Harrow Observer.
To issue press releases as required.
To keep ‘The Teacher' informed of matters which deserve a wider audience within the NUT.
To update members with information using Social Media.
To offer advice and support schools in public relations matters.
Learning Rep- Heena Modi
To promote lifelong learning opportunities to members, including the promotion of the NUT national training, professional development and the ICT skills programmes.
To provide members with information, advice and guidance on learning opportunities and funding for learning.
To organise local learning needs surveys for members.
To organise the provision of training and to assist in the organisation and delivery of local divisional training courses.
To organise local events, e.g., Learning at Work Day events.
To work with school-based learning representatives and to co-ordinate activity across the division.
To be involved in negotiations with schools on matters relating to learning and skills, e.g., learning agreements, CPD provision, and to represent the NUT on local authority committees relating to learning and skills.
To visit schools and meet members on issues relating to learning and skills.
To attend the NUT learning representative forums.
To be involved in casework on learning issues on behalf of members.
To apply for grants to support training.
