NUT School Reps are entitled to time off for union training courses. If you want to attend any courses, and encounter any difficulties, please contact the Secretary.
The NUT believes that effective Reps should be well-informed and confident, and the national and local courses are designed to develop both of these qualities.
Learning Zone
As can be seen on the Repzone page, Leicestershire NUT provides training courses for new Reps and for 'correspondent' thinking about stepping into the role of School Rep.
Details of the next training course are being planned at the moment, and further information wil be made available shortly.
School Reps are entitled to paid time off to attend this event.
We also try to provide other types of training, and we would also argue that attending meetings is an invaluable way of developing your knowledge of issues developments and policies, as well as your employment rights and conditions.
The national union also provides a range of training opportunities, and further details of national Reps training courses are available in the REPZONE page of this site.
Other types of training and CPD courses are also available for NUT members through the NUT nationally, with many of these taking place at Stoke Rochford Hall, near Grantham.
