Message from the Secretary

We are here to support and defend teachers, to promote education and to give a voice to the profession.  Over the years we believe we have done a good job in all three respects.

Over half of teachers in the County have made the NUT their union of choice in the same way that teachers across England and Wales have made the NUT the largest teachers’ Union in Europe.

This website is one way we can talk to and hear from you the members and I hope you will take up every opportunity to use the site, contribute to it, help improve it and advertise it.  We are also going to use it to talk to the public and to every one engaged in education throughout our schools, colleges and institutions.

Fair pay for teachers, school reorganisations, SATs and workload will continue to be big issues for teachers this term and beyond and you can read about them and what the Union is doing about them else where on this site.

Let us know what you think by clicking here.

Andy Williams         Secretary, Monmouthshire NUT
