In Trafford there are 69 Primary schools, 18 Secondary schools and 6 Special schools.
Trafford MB has a very good reputation for education and the schools and students generally achieve well. The Authority is regular in the top echelons of the national tables.

Trafford lies in the south-west of the Manchester conurbation. In 1980 the Sale and Altrincham Associations merged

In 1985 the Sale and Altrincham Associations merged with the North Trafford Association to become Trafford Single Association Division.
