UCL academy protesters appeal judgement
Anti Academy protesters are appealing a High Court ruling that the Government is not breaking European Union laws in the way it appoints Academy sponsors.
It is understood that the Camden case made some academy sponsors cautious about progressing with plans for new schools.
School could get new principal before its future is decided
While the public consultation on the plans to close Elgar Technology College and replace it with a new independent academy is still ongoing, an advert in yesterday’s Times Educational Supplement shows the role of principal at the “Proposed Academy Worcester” is already up for grabs.
Rift over Norwich Academy plans
Norwich City Hall has stopped short of giving its full support for plans to turn Earlham High School into an Academy - after a schism opened up among councillors.
